Jeroen Gerrese
A
native of the Netherlands, Gerrese received a Masters Degree from the
University of Hotel Management along with a post graduate degree from
Cornell University in Ithaca. He got his start with Holland America
Cruises participating in 2x World Cruises. The Dutch Hotelier eventually
ended up in New York working in the food & beverage discipline for Omni
Hotels and then opening the 770 room Crowne Plaza Manhattan as Hotel
Manager. This was followed by his appointment as the Executive Director
General Manager of the famous Waldorf Towers, where he twice hosted the
General Assembly of the United Nations. He also served as the General
Manager of the Drake Hotel on Park Avenue before his work took him abroad
to London's Britannia Hotel and Moscow's 5 Star Marriott Royal Hotel at
the Bolshoi where he oversaw the hotel's opening.
In 2000 Gerrese returned
to California where he was appointed the Resort General Manager for the
Laguna Cliffs Resort & Spa. Under Gerrese's leadership the resort received
the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award as well as the Business of the Year
Award. In 2003 Gerrese was voted the Best General Manager in Southern
California by the Travel and Writer Association. The resort was voted
"Global Hotel of the Year" in 2004 .
